1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Instructor: Kelly Leitermann
In this FUN workshop, kids will learn how to make handmade sheets of paper using 100% cotton fibers. They will learn papermaking vocabulary, including: couching, charging the vat, post, mold, deckle, and felts. They will become adept at using the papermaking equipment and observe how a hydraulic press works to squeeze the water out of their soggy pulp sheets and dry them into flat sheets of usable paper! Each student will create and embellish some sheets of paper with colorful pulp, creating unique designs.
All materials are included.
The paper must dry in our press and will be ready for pick up during the following week, during our normal hours.
*Note: this is a class for kids. Adults may register only if accompanying a child as a guardian and receive a $5 discount when enrolling with their child using the code GUARDIANDISCOUNT at registration.
