Was summer hard on your library books? Extending the circulation of books is more crucial than ever with budget cuts. We are offering a hands-on professional development workshop for libraries that will equip staff to extend the life of their worn books. This basic repair workshop will cover the materials and methods to evaluate, restore, and repair Mylar covers, damaged and failing bindings, and help keep kids' books alive for longer circulation! Participants are invited to bring several library books* in need of repair to discuss and practice these techniques during the workshop.
All materials will be provided, and additional resources for materials and equipment will be provided.
*Please note: These are non-archival methods meant to extend the life of a circulating library. This is not a class to repair precious or family books.
This class is for school and public library staff only. Please provide the name the of school or public library you work for in the “notes” field during checkout.
