Todd Portnowitz is a senior editor at Alfred A. Knopf and a translator of Italian literature. His prose translations include the forthcoming Party with Cassowary by Leonardo San Pietro, Roman Stories by Jhumpa Lahiri (co-translated with the author), The Greatest Invention by Silvia Ferrara, and Long Live Latin by Nicola Gardini; his poetry translations include the forthcoming Methods by Lorenzo Carlucci, and Go Tell It to the Emperor by Pierluigi Cappello, for which he received a Raiziss/de Palchi Fellowship from the Academy of American Poets. He is a co-host of the writer-translator reading series Us&Them, and lives in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife, son, and dachshund Gracie.

Danielle Pieratti's poems and translations have appeared or are forthcoming in AGNI, Boston Review, Ninth Letter, Words Without Borders, and elsewhere. She is the author of the poetry collections Approximate Body (Carnegie Mellon UP 2023), and Connecticut Book Award Winner Fugitives (Lost Horse Press 2016). Transparencies, her translated volume of works by Italian poet Maria Borio, was re-released by World Poetry Books in 2025. Danielle served as poetry editor for the international literary journal Asymptote from 2023-2025 and currently teaches at the University of Connecticut, where she is Director of the Connecticut Writing Project-Storrs. She is working on a manuscript of translingual poems that draw from Dante's Purgatorio in translation.
