KBAC Gallery
Opening reception September 8
6:00 – 9:00
This exhibition features the work created by Western Michigan University students who traveled throughout Europe to study book arts in summer of 2017. Students toured Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, visiting museums, libraries, and other historic sites, with a particular emphasis on traditional printing, papermaking, and book arts studios. Traditionally the publication of books has been a collaborative effort, with people from many disciplines contributing: writers, artists, and craftsmen. Students worked together and with European artists to create the works of art on display at the KBAC. Support for Book Arts in Europe was provided by Frostic School of Art and Haenicke Institute for Global Education.
The KBAC is committed to inclusion of all members of the community regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, age, or ability.
KBAC’s educational and artistic programming is made possible through the generosity of these organizations, other private funders, and people like you.
