KBAC Gallery
Opening reception Sept. 6 during Art Hop, 6 to 9 p.m.
During the summer of 2013 eleven students from WMU’s Frostic School of Art and Lee Honors College through the Haenicke Institute for Global Education, accompanied our director Jeff Abshear on a study abroad trip, Book Arts in Venice. They traveled to Italy to work at the Scuola Internazionale di Grafica in Venice, Firenze Arti Visive in Florence, and Tipoteca Italiana Fondazione, a letterpress museum and studio in Cornuda, to produce intaglio prints, letterpress posters, and a limited-edition handmade book. This exhibit features the student’s sketchbooks, photos, a video, intaglio prints, letterpress posters, copies of the completed letterpress book, and ephemera documenting their experiences in Italy.
The KBAC is committed to inclusion of all members of the community regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, age, or ability.
KBAC’s educational and artistic programming is made possible through the generosity of these organizations, other private funders, and people like you.
